Hi
A little bit about Samantha Giles
I founded EDITSWORK after fifteen years of professional writing experience, having published my own award-winning work while enjoying a long career in non-profit community arts.
As a writer, editor, and teacher, I’ve worked with all kinds of writers in all kinds of settings, including prisons, board rooms, and classrooms, positioning myself as an empathetic highly-skilled collaborator. I’ve taught small writing workshops in a variety of environments (both academic and not) and have helped provide feedback to authors in every possible stage of creation.
Now, I’m interested in bringing your creative work to its best possible realization, providing necessary critique and resources to help you generate the work that reflects your unique vision.
I’m comfortable with authors working in poetry, non-fiction, creative non-fiction and/or fiction and am excited to hear what you’re creating!
I hold a Bachelors in Social Work from San Francisco State and an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College and am the author of three books, the most recent of which, Total Recall (Krupskaya, 2019) won the California Book Award Gold Medal of Poetry. When I’m not writing or editing, I’m enjoying the beautiful Bay Area of California where I live. For more information about my work as an author visit: samanthagiles.com.
